What is the best β€œadd” development for browsers

I know that FireBug with YSlow should be my personal favorite. I also use the IE Developer Toolbar when I force page testing in IE. Are there any other jewelry lurking there?

Well, you already mentioned FireBug, so the next web interface tool I use a lot will be IE Tester ( http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage ).

This is the only browser that allows you to use IE 5.5, 6, 7, and 8. This is not an β€œadd-on”, strictly speaking, but I think it still works :)

If you are on a Mac, close Safari, and then cut it and paste it into the terminal window:

defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu "YES"

In Firefox, both Live Http Headers and User Agent Switcher are indispensable.

Although I work in a .NET store, Firefox is my browser based on the wealth of add-ons and stability of the main browser.

For Internet Explorer, the IE Toolbar for Developers , as you mentioned, is very useful. It allows you to navigate the rendered HTML, and it displays a section on the screen (highlighted block). I believe this is crucial for debugging rendered HTML.

It is also useful to use Fiddler . Fiddler is an HTTP debugging proxy that logs all HTTP traffic between your computer and the Internet. Fiddler allows you to check all HTTP traffic, set breakpoints and "script" with incoming or outgoing data.

This is not strictly an add-on, as it is included as part of the browser, but I found Dragonfly [1] to be really useful.

It has all the features of FireBug and works in Opera.

I used to love a violinist, but I hated how difficult it was to work with Firefox. In addition, all non-localhost debugging (an early problem, can be fixed in recent builds) was a big annoyance during local development.

Then I discovered FoxyProxy , and life has been enjoyable ever since. I also use Firebug with YSlow. The only time I use IE is the final script / css / layout tests.
