Video tutorial tool?

I would like to make a video tutorial for my SDK - one of those videos that shows the screen, while some dude talks about what he is doing. Can someone direct me to light and preferably free tools for this?

Desired features: - Abbreviations (recording several fragments of the video and their subsequent combination) - Subtitles (not only for the convenience of the user, but because I would rather not disturb other cells while talking in the microphone at work :))

( who doesn't like video tutorials? )

Update: I am using Windows.

Camtasia is very good. I also used winks, this is more flash than video, but you can add navigation controls and text fields.

Jing . Free, very easy to use, for the Windows version, the .NET 3.0 platform is required. A Mac version is also available.
