Why does the eclipse EPIC plugin not show the information in Explain Errors / Warnings?

I use the "EPIC" plugin to develop Eclipse for Perl, but there is no information whatsoever in the Explain Errors / Warnings view, although I have some compilation errors. Do I need to do anything special to get an EPIC to display useful information in this view? What is this point of view?

The view is not automatically populated. As stated in the user manual (which is great by the way), you should right-click the warning / error and select "Explain errors / warnings" from the context menu. You should click the icon, but not the error code.

In the view, you will receive much more information and recommendations than an error message or warning.
