Has anyone found a way to download google chat logs?

I would like to get all of my logs in Google chat so that I can use them to teach bot type chat.

I know the restrictions imposed by Google, so chats cannot simply be downloaded via IMAP. I am looking for workarounds.

As of September 2011, Google has removed the chat download limit. Google now allows you to export chat logs using IMAP.

It is not possible to download chat logs if they are not tied to an email session - perhaps you could use all the logs stored in your chat folder and then download conversations via IMAP or POP?

If you want to make a program for this, you can use the greasemonkey script and the local PHP server.
The Greasemonkey script will pick up chats when you visit them, parse them and send them to a local PHP server, which can then dump it to TXT, SQL, whatever.
Contact me if you want to help, it may be interesting to me, although I will be on vacation in the next months :)

If you know how to download an email. You can do the same as in chat. Because chats are nothing more than an email with a chat tag. If you see chats, they are actually sent from the person you chatted with.
