NSbeep () on iPhone

Is there NSBeep() on the iPhone? I just want to reproduce a short error sound to indicate that the key pressed is not a legal symbol. I will play this in my delegate textField, which removes invalid characters.

No, NSBeep () is part of the ApplicationKit environment that does not exist on the iPhone.

I would not use system sounds together. They are just annoying - BEEP - rather give the user a visual key, for example, the screen flickers for a split second or makes the widget sway slightly, for example, when you mistype the password on os x.
