The best (free) certificate management tools

I recently downloaded a neat java tool for managing certificate files - like PEM, PFX, etc. It was written in Java from memory, but for life I can’t find it (cleared download list and unclear file name!).

This made me answer the question: what are the free certificate management tools? The above tool could generate certificates as well as display them through it.

I just want something to track my certificates and, as a rule, make it easier to view their details without using formal CA tools or keytool / other cmd tools. Just to find out which certificates I mean.

My colleague found a whole bunch - including the one I used before (Portecle). Thanks Shayne!

Or this: http://www.gria.org/downloads/tpc/keytool-gui-zip/griafile_view (apparently replaced this commercial product: http://www.lazgosoftware.com/kse/ )

Or http://portecle.sf.net

I have successfully tried this solution:

http://gnomint.sourceforge.net/

gnoMint is an X.509 certification authority management tool.

It currently has two different interfaces: one for GTK / Gnome environments and another for the command line.

This is free software under the GNU / GPL license.

If you cannot use the graphical interface, then OpenSSL is as good as it is. There are binary packages for Windows platforms .
