InstallShield runtime?

We have InstallShield 2009 Premier installed on one system on which it is used to create and compile settings (one license per place).

However, we are trying to create a one-click experience using Team Foundation Build Server to create nightly builds. We would also like to integrate the installation file generation.

I know that CodePlex has an open source package that contains a custom build task to automate the generation of the installation based on the installation (by sending the .ism file and other materials).

Is there something like installshield installation time that can be installed on our build server that does nothing and then creates the setup from an ism file without a user interface or something else, so that we don’t need to buy another license?

InstallShield Premier includes a Standalone Builder command-line tool that you can install on your build server and use as part of an automated process.

I can’t remember if this happened on the CD or you need to download it through InstallShield updates.

Please note that this is no longer included in the professional version.

To integrate with TFS, you will need InstallShield 2011, since it will now work with TFS2010 and will be correctly created while the machine that you use for assembly has a TFS build agent and standalone Installshield assembly or InstallShield Pro / Premier version. The generated installation will also be copied to the TFS removal folder.
