FTP web client and code editor

I am looking for a way to support LAMP-based websites completely from a browser window .

I currently use FlashFXP and NoteTab Pro for FTP and code editing, but they are only good as long as I am at my desk.

I want to find a way to make changes to the site when I leave the office .

If I am in a family and a client calls me about an error on their site, it would be great to connect to an online FTP client, enter a password and work directly on the host .

At a minimum, this program will require a few exceptions, tabs for indentation, the ability to CHMOD, and the ability to create and delete files on the server.

I would like to avoid an advertising solution, and a clean graphical interface is a priority.

.,.

FireFTP is really smooth, but it refuses to display some files on the main site that I support. And since this program will be used on computers that are not mine and, possibly, in public places, it would be nice to avoid installing the plug-in (and, possibly, the browser). If I can get it to work, I can use it for daily FTP.

Bespin looks promising, but at the time of writing it does not have FTP connectivity and very limited export capabilities.

Final Choice: Net2FTP . He does everything that I want. My only complaint is that it is ugly , but I can live with it in return for the flexibility that I get in return.

PHPanywhere.net is exactly what you tend to be. :)

This is a real-time text syntax editor with support for all web formats and includes a powerful FTP editor.

Check out @ http://phpanywhere.net/ and let me know what you think!

I used FireFTP , Firefox add-on for Firefox. It offers all the functions of a standard FTP client, but works on its own tab.

Update: you can always install Firefox Portable and install the plug-in there, so you can carry it with you on a USB flash drive to use on computers of other nations.

Personally, I use http://kodingen.com for my remote work. They also provide free hosting for developing a new project ...

Check it out anyway!

for me phpanywhere.net did not work ... I always had corrupted files and problems with the insert.

Luck

PS: I know his old post, but someone might find it useful.

Try the Firefox extension, FireFTP . It runs directly on its own tab.

Need a complete web solution? Try using Net2FTP . Free, without registration, access it from any browser. I have used it many times, and I think it has all the features you want.

Now that you have indicated that you are really looking for the web , not browser-based , for the editors I suggest taking a look at Bespin , its name has appeared quite often recently.

I like net2ftp

which is network-based, allows you to load, edit pages / code in a standard text field

Another nice feature: you can upload net2ftp to your personal site and use it on ftp on any other site that you have access to.

For this type of thing, best is http://codey.co

The problem is that you cannot add more than 10 FTP connections to the list, and you can only start 1 at a time ... but the editor is great and works like a charm.

I hope you enjoy it and keep in mind that it is in beta, but for the beta, it has been helping my ass for over 1 year now.

Welcome and may be the code with you!

Net2FTP does the job, but it's ugly.

It would be great if you could create an account and store FTP sites.

I am using http://codeanywhere.com

You can use it to store 1 FTP account for free. And the interface looks good. If you want to keep more than 1 FTP account, you will have to pay.

Is there any service like codeanywhere.com, but free?

Filezilla is good. Try your portable version. There is no advertising and the ability to create and delete files .. very convenient ... I have been using it since 2 years.

Well, this is an old post, but since I have the same problem and looked around, I attached the old application in a new design.

PSPad is very convenient:

  • built-in FTP for direct editing of files on the server, etc.
  • you can have it on a usb drive and use it anywhere in the world
  • It is also free.

Many other functions come with the program. It seems like not enough goodies. This is just a candybar for developers :-). Try it, there are many languages!

PSPad (home, eng)

Download PSPad

As tj111 said in an answer ( FTP web client and code editor ), you can install fireFTP and FireFOx to be able to run firefox from a USB drive.
Then you can install notepad ++ on the same USB stick. This is a great open source editor with syntax highlighting and tooltip options and more. ( http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/nl/site.htm ) Then you can run both fireFTP and notepad ++ from this USB drive. You can configure fireFTP to automatically open files using Notepad ++. When you save the file in Notepad ++, FireFTP will automatically update it on your FTP server.
