Can I use the WCF Starter Kit HttpClient with confidence?

I would like to start using the WCF Rest Starter Kit HttpClient to create clients for my Restful WCF services, and I was wondering ...

  • If someone is currently experiencing any problems with him

  • Can I be sure that future versions of the components (only HttpClient, without worrying about the rest of the kit) will not contain significant API changes?

This seems to be a fairly simple component, so I can't imagine any major changes with it, but maybe someone who knows more can give me a head.

Thanks in advance.

Until it is released, Microsoft certainly reserves the right to change it.

On the other hand, if you make sure you know that you are using it, you will most likely be less likely to be, mmm, uncomfortable due to any changes.

I am working on a WCF team and I have written most of the HttpClient code.

  • No known issues. The public release tracker is located at http://aspnet.codeplex.com/WorkItem/List.aspx (search for HttpClient or WCF REST).

  • Microsoft reserves the right to change it. However, I do not think that significant changes will be made to the API that is sent. (Perhaps some minor renaming.) We are mainly considering adding functions / features that should not violate existing code.

A great way to tell us about your use of the forum is: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9632199 .
