Mockup Editor is a free tool for easily adding arrows, callouts, etc.

I used Balsamiq to create layouts. I use the trial version, so I have all the screens in one layout instead of several files. I want to send the export of these layouts to my team so that they can comment on them. They should be able to easily add arrows, callouts, text, etc. I know that you can do some of them in Balsamiq, but this is not done for these types of comments. I used Paint.net and added them to separate layers, but this is not the easiest to use application for some non-technical people. I like the editor in Snagit , because it easily allows you to lay out an image, but this is a paid application, and I'm looking for a free tool (which works on Windows).

This tool does not necessarily need a screen capture tool, as there are many options available , but it will not interfere with the tool.

What I would like to easily do is:

  • Add arrows to show which button was pressed to go from one screen to another.
  • Add callout text to offer suggestions for changing a section or moving an item.
  • Use different color / size markup elements

I found Pencil , but it is like overkill - I do not need full image editing, just an opportunity for someone to quickly and easily provide feedback.

Not free, but if you already have MS Office with OneNote, it is great for things like this imho. I think there is a free reader there, as usual.

If you really need quick and easy feedback, use a pen and paper.

Print screens and pass them on to those who need a user interface application in the team. Let them mark their heart and give them to you. I know that it makes me sound like a ludd, but this is really the most effective way.
