Can I deploy ColdFusion code in Google App Engine for Java?

Since ColdFusion itself is Java-based, I would suggest that it is not too strong to suggest that CFML code can be deployed in the Google App Engine.

BlueDragon is a commercial solution for deploying CFML code on Java servers.

This article describes how someone got OpenBD (Blue Dragon) running on the App Engine:

Are there any open source alternatives that can be used for App Engine?

Railo is another obvious candidate here, and some people seem to be trying to configure it for use in the Google App Engine.

I am collecting several demos that run on Open BlueDragon, which in turn runs on the Google App Engine. The list is small at the moment, but in the end it should give you a good idea of โ€‹โ€‹what you can use with OpenBD and GAE.

Check out http://www.stax.net/ - Stax networks made by former Allaire (r)?

Works great, supports coldfusion from..cloud. You upload a precompiled source file, upload your stuff, upload it, and it all works without fighting it.

I know that the google app mechanism is quite restrictive, it will include opening the source and deleting everything that it tries to write to the file system, and changing the interaction with the database.

You can check this thread and group as a resource for Open BlueDragon as well as the wiki . Looks like they already have a branch that works with compatibility with GAE.

On the Railo side of the CFML open source pond, you can refer to this article from Railo's build help of your choice from the source .

Joining their respective google groups and asking questions should also be fruitful.

Good luck
