JRKIT JVM Monitor via SNMP

I want to track a Java application (running in JRockit) through SNMP. I need only some basic information. Is there a startup option that I can add to my application to enable SNMP?

SNMP in JRockit works the same as in Sun JVM. Details are on this web page .

In short, you need to do the following:

  • Start with -Dcom.sun.management.snmp.port=portNum
  • Copy the ACL template file in JRE_HOME/lib/management/snmp.acl.template to JRE_HOME/lib/management/snmp.acl and make it read and write only by the owner.

I do not believe that JRockit can publish statistics on SNMP. What I saw in monitoring systems is connecting JMX breakpoints in JRockit ...

Of course, you can also use the JRMC tool, which is connected to the JMX beans mentioned above.

The standard JRockit JVM does not support SNMP. The most common approach is to connect a JMX SNMP connector. I previously used AdventNet one .
