This seems to be a variant of Mac OS X for ssh-add. It adds identifiers to your OS X keychain, so any subsequent use will be convenient for them.
This is different from other types of shipping. I usually use regular ssh-add without additional options, then ssh -A to forward the agent. This means that if I transfer ssh to another host through the first, my creds are automatically transferred. Very comfortably.
In your opinion, it is best to read the manual pages for any options that you see. Ssh comes with large man pages.
