Sharepoint Multi-User Authentication

I need to figure out how I can allow our Sharepoint to support both Windows and forms-based authentication. The goal is to allow these users in our Active Directory to log into the portal using their active directory credentials, and at the same time we want to allow users who are not in our active directory to register an online account and be able to to access our sharepoint after their account is approved by the administrator.

You need to enable double authentication for the SharePoint site. Here is one of the class articles in the topic. Also, you need to deploy controls that allow the user to register and create an input for this.
