I want to display dots and functions in my dotnet application. Can you recommend a good free template for WinForms?

MicrosoftChartControls is a free and easy to use library.

ZedGraph (now zedgraph.org is dead)

This question may be useful ( ZedGraph goes well), however, is more related to plotting.

I would go with the usual PictureBox and myself plotted / graphically. I found that mastering 2D graphics in .Net takes about the same amount as allowing the middle third-party control to work the way you want it, and you will not run into deployment problems that often arise from the inclusion of licensed third-particle components .

OxyPlot is mature, beautiful and ready for production.

If you need general control over everything and / or you plan to display millions of points in the spectrum, stick with ZedGraph .
