How to start lengthy jobs in Catalyst with a progress bar?

How do I get years of work from a Catalyst application? I want a page from which a user can download a list of URLs, and the application will then send and download these URLs. I need to implement an AJAX progress indicator, which will then show the status of this job.

You can try Catalyst :: Plugin :: UploadProgress . Its purpose should be used to upload files, but I think it can be used for what you do, since you are uploading a URL (which, honestly, is the same as uploading a file to the server).
