Installing sqlserver2008 SP1, are the "selection functions" empty?

Question

when installing sqlserver 2008 sp1 on windows7, when it falls into the "select features" part, the list is empty.

I can’t get past this step because I can’t choose anything, and then the check fails.

The man installing sqlserver2008 on windows7 is a real nightmare!

I have .net 3.5 SP1 trying to install sqlserver 2008 SP1 and it just has nowhere to go.

Stupid question (maybe), but have you already installed SQL Server? SP1 does not contain the main product. You need to install RTM for SQL Server 2008, and then install SP1.
