Recommendation for a book on expressive PL / SQL?

Let me be clear - I have more than enough โ€œlinksโ€ and โ€œfor beginners.โ€

What I want is something like "Exceptional PL / SQL" or "Agile PL / SQL" or "PL / SQL Design Patterns" or even just "PL / SQL for developers who want to write good code."

Is there such a thing?

(I am a C ++ / Ruby / developer, etc. I was thrown into an Oracle project. The language makes me feel that my hands are tied behind my back and there is a burlap bag on my chest. Back bad memories of DBase and Clipper .. .)

I found this book useful:

Best Oracle PL / SQL Best Practices

And there are many more O'Reilly books that you might find useful here .

Also, if I could recommend reading something, I would suggest an Oracle performance book. Many frequently occurring performance issues often appear by people unfamiliar with PL / SQL.

A bit of a template, but, in my opinion, it's worth looking at the presentations that Tom Kyte provides.

Of course, they lose something if you were not at the presentation, but such as SQL Methods can save you by writing a ton of PL / SQL code.

Good luck with your project!

Connor MacDonald is a very good Oracle developer, and his book Mastering Oracle PL / SQL has some good ideas / approaches. Many of the structural structures of the Gang of Four are directly applicable: facade, proxy, adapter, bridge.

Then go to asktom.oracle.com and click on โ€œResourcesโ€ and โ€œLinksโ€ at the top of the page. Tom Keith's books are very good.
