Why is adel air so slow

I tried the air for several applications, such as tweetdeck, ebay, however they were inaccurately slow, I use the ubuntu 8.04 system.

Is this a common problem?

In my first thought, AIR should be faster than a web browser,

  • AIR only needs to get the “data” and locally save the “format”
  • dynamic effects are performed by FLEX, not javascript, which should be faster.

What do you think?

This is a known issue - Flash / Flex for Linux is not as fast as the Windows version, AIR could not do this, it's just a shell for running Flex.

This question is valid for SuperUser - I vote for moving it.

Well, I mean, there are many reasons why you are mistaken.

  • The loading time of the AIR environment on your system is slow.
  • Browser browsing is usually optimized; different parts are loaded independently
  • AIR can do different things slow [write to disk, etc.]
  • Rendering in AIR can be more complex, hence slower

It is very difficult to make such a judgment, because, like everything, it depends on how well the implementation is written.

Obviously, though, if it slows down for you, it just slows down. Go with what you want.
