Is WCF configuration required to handle various authentication methods?

The WCF service was written and can be hosted on any website. These websites can use Windows, Kerberos, or Forms authentication.

Is there any specific configuration or development in the service required to handle these different types of authentication? Or is authentication independent and the service need not worry about it?
