Protect ASP.NET source code

Question

I am currently doing some research on how to best protect the source code so that no external parties can view and use my code.

From browsing the web came up with a few ideas i.e.

1) Publishing a website in a DLL

2) Code obfuscator

3) Third party

But not one I find really explained that it’s well or in detail shown how to achieve this. Anyone who could shed light on this subject?
