Visual Studio express vs vs 2008 for my partner

I am building websites using vs 2008 (mainly asp.net mvc, jquery and webforms). my partner wants to start helping me, but he does not have against 2008.

our options:

I never used # 2, so I wanted to get feedback from any of the following:

  • Can you work in a team where some people use vs 2008 and some use vs express.
  • Any other suggestions or road blocks that I come across with this strategy.

I use VS express at home and have worked. The only thing I came across expresses that it bothers me that it does not support add-ons, so I cannot get decent integration with source control.

Express editions do not have the same templates and project types, but you really do not need them, they are just there to speed up work in other editions, you can still create projects, but you have to create an empty project and change the settings manually.
