Recommended open source project, user interface development

I would like to continue to hone my technical skills (programming / design / etc), contributing to the community. I did a little work in the development of the user interface and I feel most comfortable there (I wrote a library that is used inside my company, which provides a reliable interface with advanced features available out of the box). Since I feel comfortable here, I would like to use my skills in this area to get started on an open source project.

What advice would the SO community have for a good place? Since this would be my first OSS project, what is relatively easy to get would be great (although I don't mind the problem). Of course, the project should be able to use the user interface developer.

Languages โ€‹โ€‹I / can work with: Java, C #, VB (ugh ... please no), C ++ (my skills are weak here)

thanks

The Windows GUI to the zlib free software compression library is a project called Wiz . It has not been updated after several years (the last operating system that it claims to support Windows NT), and desperately needs a facelift, if not a complete rewrite. As a result, it is truly uncompetitive with commercial alternatives such as WinZip.

If you can access zlib through C #, I would think that this would be the perfect project for someone like you.

Personally, I would like to see the VirtualDub Improved Interface.
