Master-Slave Databases for Ruby On Rails

I am currently setting up a master-slave application using Ruby on Rails, which requires a Master-Slave core server. I am currently considering using Slony for the replication component and Masochism to handle read / write connections to various databases.

This is my first setup of a master-slave database with Ruby on Rails, and these are the two options that I have seen the most. Have you worked with the best plugin for this situation in the past? The limit of the number of slaves in Slony is not a problem for the situation; I should realistically need only one or two.

Thanks!

If you are using Ruby, it would be a sin not to check rubyrep .

I personally use MySQL, so my main implementation may not work, but I also used Masochism and switched to DataFabric , which supports more subordinates and also replication mechanisms.

We used Slony and Masochism, but switched to Londiste and DataFabric and did not look back.
