Reaching breakpoints in MonoDevelop 2.2 Beta 1 on OSX

Just installed MonoDevelop 2.2 Beta 1 on OSX Snow Leopard, and all is well.

I created a new ASP.NET web project and started it. So far, so good. But then I set a breakpoint in the code behind and it didn't hit ... any ideas why?

There is no debugger from the Mac. This will not work until they have them. This feature works on Windows and Linux. :)

The mono debugger, MDB, does not yet work on Mac OS, so MD cannot use it to debug Mono applications. Please note that if there are no debugger adapters in the MD, there is no "Debug" command, only "Run".

AFAIK, MacOS MDB support should be in Mono 2.6, although I expect it to be somewhat experimental. When this is shipped, we can enable the addition of the MDB adapter in MonoDevelop.

@mhutch Not sure what you're saying is absolutely correct: I installed MonoDevelop 2.2 on my MacBook Pro under OSX Leopard, and I have a bright Debug button next to β€œBuild all projects of all solutions”, anyway, that works .

Trying to use Mono Develop on OSX is a disappointing and ultimately hopeless exercise. Besides the lack of debugger support, the IDE is unstable, and simple things like copying and pasting text in the editor window are a lottery about whether it will crash or not.
