Automation Server Cannot Create Object - Microsoft JScript Runtime Error

I am trying to run a Java webstart application that starts from an html page. During boot, I get a warning with the message "Automation server cannot create the object" several times, after which the applications start and work normally. Alerts appear only on one of the workstations. Any pointers to where I should look? Sincerely, Dutch

try the following IE settings: "Initialize and script ActiveX control is not marked as safe."

It may or may not apply to your case, but there were reports of problems starting JScript Runtime when starting Applets or Java WebStart applications when you have certain network settings.

From time to time, Windows Update appears, which generates such an error, and another - a correction, and you will see some of these errors. Perhaps yours may be one of them.

Usually the workaround between them is as follows:

  • go to IE Network Settings and uncheck "Autodiscover Settings" or any PAC file settings
  • or go to the "Network Settings" of the Java Control Panel and disable "Use Browser Settings" or other settings to use a direct connection.

Obviously, the workaround is only valid if you do not have to go through a proxy server ...
