"Push" linq versus reactive structure

(Once again expose the depths of my ignorance here by combining two concepts that I did not collect)

I read here about the Reactive framework being a "Push" model compared to the Linq "Pull" model. It reminded me to read an article on 'Push' Linq .

Is there any similarity between these two "frames"?

UPDATE

Since I asked this question, John Skeet also asked him, here is his first and second .

Yes. They both provide a method for using linq operators to stream data.

The Reactive Framework is likely to have broader adoptions.

  • I have good logical clarity. The opposite of IEnumerable (pull) can be expressed as dual in IObservable (push)
  • It will be baked in .Net 4
