How to make tab management capture the whole window in Qt Creator?

I want the tab control to dock with the entire window pane in Qt Creator. Now in Winforms and WPF it is very simple, but in Qt it does not work.

I tried all layouts, grid layouts, etc. etc., it just shortens the tabs without causing them to grow full. Therefore, please check the solution before informing me that it SHOULD BE a USUAL answer because it does not work.

omg QQ, it makes me nuts

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve here - do you want the control to fill the client area? Are you creating a class based on QMainWindow, or derived from QDialog? If you use QMainWindow, you must make the tab the center widget by calling setCentralWidget . Then the tab control will populate the client window area of the main window. I have done this many times.

Or do you want the ears tab to stretch out?
