Is there a Toad application for Sybase? I can't seem to find anyone! I tried using VS 2008, but can't see the sproc source.

Assume Sybase ASE.

Transmission with Sybase Central and SQL Advantage as part of client tools. Sybase Central allows you to manage and create tables, views, sprocs, etc. SQL Advantage allows you to run SQL ...

Sybase Workspace is a new tool for ASE, I have never tried it. http://www.sybase.com/products/modelingdevelopment/workspace

ASE ISQL is a free tool that is also useful for sql, but less useful for modifying stored procedures, etc. (more replacement for SQL Advantage). http://code.google.com/p/aseisql/

If you have money to spend, then there is also Embarcadero DBArtisan. http://www.embarcadero.com/products/dbartisan . I used this and it is pretty good, although their support for MSSQL and Oracle is better than Sybase support.

RazorSQL has very good Sybase support. Editing / viewing stored procedures, etc.

SqlDbx at http://www.sqldbx.com/ . Very lightweight software, promising many editor features. To do this, you must install Sybase Open Client on the workstation.

But I recommend using Oracle SQL Developer. I am currently working through a JDBC connection to a Sybase ASE database using this tool. This is similar to Eclipse-based, but quite responsive and allows you to view the source code for functions and procs too.

Try Embarcadero Rapid SQL . I recommend you version 7.4 over 7.6 because it is more stable. Embarcadero Rapid SQL XE is the latest version.

Embarcadero Rapid SQL XE allows developers and database administrators to execute SQL code in light of speed. Supported by all major database platforms from a single interface, teams can standardize one powerful heterogeneous SQL IDE tool.
