Will an incomplete google sitemap be damaged in my search ranking?

If I submit a sitemap.xml file that does not contain all the pages of my site, will this affect the ranking of my search?

For example: If my map contains only those pages that were created in the last month and did not include all pages in the past year, will Google handle these skipped pages differently?

Most likely, there will be a difference, but this does not mean that pages excluded from the site map will receive a lower status than without a site map.

The Google bot limits the time taken to index a site. It will start with the most obvious pages and will work this way until it reaches the set limit if it stops looking.

By adding a sitemap, you can make it easier for the bot to find the most relevant pages. When the bot is done with them, it will continue with the rest of the pages. He will probably have more time for the rest of the site if the site map makes the first part of the work more efficient.

Not. Google said that it will index pages that are not included in the site map, and that sitemaps themselves are not related to ranking, but only to detect pages.

What you need to remember, Google is very picky, and even if you submit all the subpages of your site, Google will index only part of it anyway.

More importantly, make sure that the cross-link of all pages is β€œeach other,” so make sure you make good use of the main navigation, breadcrumbs, footer links, etc. Because this is the main way googlebot will crawl your page.

Personally, I had a situation where after updating sitemap.xml Google immediately said that the new link in my sitemap was already indexed (because googlebot indexed it on its own before it was placed in the sitemap.xml file).

Conclusion - Add as many links as you can, and don't worry about the missing. Just make sure you update sitemap.xml once in a while (or do it programmatically).
