Implement Firefox Compliance

I am using sugarCRM on my localhost.

For no apparent reason, firefox browses the page in Quirks mode (login page). This completely ruined the page, here is an example of data:

Zn7-} vfd4qZ ยท 8 ฺฑ - (5rf < = ftwRw @ "m <2 ^}? -ำ‹sw | # WoU'an {2f0f1E ~ K \ $ โ™ž) ioDU] U; $` KRP @XKE | Ip & !? kCl [gR Thu 9JP =

I thought it might be a server error (apache), but if I use Epiphany, I can see the page perfectly. When I see page information, I see that the rendering mode is in quirks mode.

Is there a way to get him to use compliance mode?

I am on ubuntu 9.10 using Firefox 3.5 (I also tried 3.0.15, the same thing happened) I disabled the whole extension and I still have the same page. A friend tried to view it using Chrome, and the same thing happened: (

Could there be a problem with the encoding? For example, your Apache sends

Content-Type: text/html; charset=Big5

but your HTML page is just ASCII. Then you get gibberish as such. If you know your HTML encoding, try "View" โ†’ "Character Encoding" in FF and change the bit a bit.

Also, look at Apache httpd.conf and find

 AddDefaultCharset

Customization.

To make Firefox display the page in standard mode, add DOCTYPE to your HTML. For example, if you use HTML (unlike XHTML), use:

 <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/DTD/strict.dtd">

You can find this link useful on Wikipedia - launching various rendering modes .

The corrupted data that you posted shows that the character encoding your document and the character encoding that Firefox uses do not match.

  • Choose character encoding
  • Make sure you use it in your document.
  • Verify that the Content-Type header indicates that the encoding

Are you using PHP 5.3? This may be the reason. What is your version for sugar?
