Error checking and checking using Bluetooth in Java

Using bluetooth. I want to communicate between a Windows PC and a mobile phone. The PC will probably have Bluecove, and the mobile with JSR-82.

Do I need to implement CRC and other error checking procedures in my Bluetooth transmission and reception software, or do the underlying stack and equipment take care of these details?

For example, if I send a message to another device using RFCOMM / SPP, I need to be sure whether the message reached the device and whether it received what I sent.

How can this be implemented or should it be checked in software?

RFCOMM must provide a reliable connection, for example, tcp.
Data should be received in the order in which they were sent, without corruption or not at all.
