RGoogleDocs and now RGoogleData

RGoogleDocs is fantastic. It allows you to store data in Google and read them in real time. I tried installing it on a computer the other day, and that’s all I could find is RGoogleData in RForge. What is the relationship between the two packages? I tried doing a Google search of RGoogleData and RGoogleDocs in the same search and did not find anything. Duncan Temple Lang wrote RGoogleDocs, and it seems Adrian A. Dragulescu wrote RGoogleData.

I could have sworn that the Windows binary file RGoogleDocs was published in Omegahat by Duncan Temple Lang, but, alas, in the last few months I no longer see the omega-ghat in the RGUI repository selection list. Instead, this list contains RForge. What is the connection between omegahat and rforge?

RGoogleDocs is located at omegahat: http://www.omegahat.org/RGoogleDocs/
RGoogleData is located on RForge: http://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/rgoogledata/

RForge is the place to build R. packages. Omegahat is more general, providing open source software for statistical applications. This includes some R packages, but also software for other environments.

Packages

R on both sites can be installed directly using install.packages() with the appropriate repository setting.
