Visual Studio does not recognize keyboard shortcut

I'm not sure what could be the reason for this, but I installed GhostDoc, and the default keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + D worked as expected for quite some time. Recently it just stopped for no known reason (updates were installed, but none of them are related to .NET or Visual Studio that I know of). Looking under Tools Options Environment Keyboard , I still see the value mapped to the Tools.SubMain.GhostDoc.DocumentThis command. Although, when I try to press a key combination in the text box "Press shortcuts:", it will not register it. It registers other combinations of Ctrl + Shift + ..., and not with D.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Any possible solutions (hopefully not related to resetting all keyboard shortcuts)?

Is it possible that you have another application using the same key combination? This happened to me with Winamp global keys.

Check out this application hard can not show which application has registered an active hotkey. I have not tried, but if it detects the currently assigned keyboard shortcuts, you can delete the running applications to determine which one is using Ctrl + Shift + D. They have an open question about the stack overflow about determining who is registered. Some answers there refer to other applications that may help you - this , maybe?
