Debug HTTP Request: Get a complete log of all HTTP requests sent by Firefox

What is the easiest way to get a complete log of all HTTP / HTTPS requests issued by Firefox during a browser session?

This is a programming issue, since getting a log of all the requested HTTP / HTTPS requests is a great troubleshooting tool for developing webapps.

  • Wireshark is the most comprehensive tool for recording all http activity
  • The Fiddler tool may be easier to get started and comes with a built-in HTTPS extension
  • TamperData Firebug app is a very good addon for modifying ad hoc requests

LiveHttpHeaders is a great add-on for Firefox. It tracks all requests along with header information and messages. You can save the log to a file if you want.

Safari has a built-in activity monitor - Window-> List of activity of all HTTP requests that I consider.
