Best text editor for NLP

I am working on NLP and use notepad ++ to process text files. This is good in some cases, but the problem is that there are too many workouts with large-scale files with a lot of texts. VIM does not support UTF-8. Which one is the best text editor with Unicode support?

I am pleased with Sublime Text 2. Crossplatform (Win, Linux, Mac) works well with find & replace regular expressions that are lightweight but rich in plugins. You must try: -)

Vim, I think, is the best editor and offers the following benefits:

  • supports utf-8. If this is not the case, add set enc=utf-8 to your .vimrc file so that it constantly supports utf-8. To support utf-8 only in the current session, run :set enc=utf-8
  • It offers many shortcuts, so it makes navigation very fast. It also helps to avoid redundancy, preceding any command with a number to repeat it many times. (To add five times to use 5p ), so using vim is easy to deal with scalability.
