IPhone Autocomplete Search Example

Question

Can someone tell me how to implement the "auto-complete" search interface on the iPhone. I assume that I will need to use NSTimer to periodically check what was printed, and then transfer this part to my data source, and then display them.

I need to associate it with an existing web service returning JSON

It is recommended that you use a tutorial or some sample code.

This answer will probably help you. If you use the UISearchDisplayController , you will not need to use NSTimer to poll the search field, as changes to the search field will result in delegate methods for you.

In these delegate methods, you can apply a new search predicate based on the contents of the field, and then update the data selection and display possible words.
