In Webtrends, what is the difference between HIT, VISIT and PAGE VIEW

I cannot find any direct and clear documentation explaining the differences between these types of values. The hits used to be any access to the server, regardless of the file type, but Webtrends only tracks page views, so what is the difference between page views and hits? As for visits, I assume that 1 visit can lead to multiple pageviews.

I seek enlightenment.

This is a screenshot of the results I'm trying to understand.

Ultimately, hits in this case are equal to pageviews. Hope this helps anyone facing the same issue with Webtrends.

  • Hit - any request (image, html, css, js, etc.)
  • PageView - each page request (html, aspx, asp, php, etc.)
  • A visit is a session, the duration of the appearance on your site, regardless of the number of page views they created.

These are pretty general terms, and this usage is accepted in most lingo web tracking.

I don't know about Webtrends, but usually something like this happens in Lingo:

  • Hit: request to the web server. Although this may be a page, it may be an image, a CSS file, etc.
  • Pageview: A request to a web server, which is a page.
  • Visit: unique page view. (unique to, from the same IP address or the same client). Visits depend on what the time interval is for the unique; that is, visits / month do not coincide with the addition of all your visits / days.
