Regarding ORA 21000

I am struggling with an ORA 21000 that says ORA-21000: the error number argument for raise_application_error 3739 is out of range .

This error occurs intermittently. I do not know why this is happening. This worked just fine before, but after switching to Linux from Solaris, this error suddenly occurred. Googling didn't help. Please, help.

RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR is a method by which an application can create a custom error in Oracle, so there will be no documentation about your error message.

This procedure takes an error number argument, which must be in the range -20000 to -20999. It looks like your application is trying to raise 3739, which is not allowed.

This is a defect in your application.
