Crystal Reports in Visual Studio 2010

I have just switched to Visual Studio 2010 since 2008, and I guess that before my work I did not do enough research. I seem to be very attached.

I knew Crystal Reports was no longer part of 2010, but the beta was downloadable. I have completed this document for deployment. My only change in this document relates to the bindingRedirect element. I changed the value of the newVersion attribute to 10.5.3700.0, because this is what is in the GAC and what was in the manifest of my 2008 project.

Unfortunately this does not work. Whenever I try to run a crystal report, I get an exception:

An error occurred while trying to load the Crystal Reports runtime.

Crystal Reports registry keyword permissions are insufficient or Crystal Reports runtime is not set correctly.

At this point, I think I will have to roll back and return to VS 2008 until SAP exits with a run time. I cannot believe that there is no work for this, as this will destroy so many projects that include Crystal Reports.

Could anyone get around this? If so, how?

Download the required package from here, install it and it will work, Crystal Report runtime
