Please recommend a simple xquery tool

I'm trying to get some information from a private XML file used as a database schema, I think the XQuery command line tool might help. Could you recommend it? Thank you BTW, the implementation list is too long for me to choose ...

I would recommend downloading the trial version of the Oxygen XML editor and using it. Its not a team founded, though ... Not too sure what you are using as a development environment, but if you need a good XQuery library, I would recommend Saxon libraries, which, in my opinion, come in many flavors. I know there is a .NET library.

here are two versions of gui ... both open source

kernow uses saxon and has many features ... (EDIT: currently the newest version of the kernel is a trial version and not free if you don't get older versions.)

and then theres qizx that comes with qizx studio, gui is not so good, but it implements xquery 1.1 and the full text of xquery

I would recommend XQSharp . It is free for non-commercial use and has more features than the free version of Saxon (in particular, it is fully knowledgeable about schemes and has a much more advanced optimizer).

Disclaimer: I am a developer for XQSharp and therefore biased.
