Crystal Report Remove Embedded Printer

Using Crystal Report XI.

When I save the report, the default printer that is installed on my computer is installed as the default printer for the report, so the expanded reports when printing go to my printer by default.

How can I remove the default printer so that when printing a report it will use the default printer by default.

By the way, I don’t have the ability to display the printer dialog box, as some of these processes are automated (i.e. without human intervention).

Thanks.

Do not set up a printer for your report, and it will automatically configure itself as the default printer on the end-user computer.

If you are good at writing scripts, you can write a script to open .rpt, change the printer, save .rpt, and then print it.

To disconnect the printer from your report:

  • Open the report file in Crystal Reports.
  • From the File menu, select "Page Setup ...".
  • At the top of the Page Setup dialog box, select the No Printer check box.
  • OK
  • Save report file.
