Is there a way to convert DocX, OpenXml or RTF to TextFlow in AS3?

Basically, we want to open the docx file in as3 or Flex 4 and convert it to a text stream, while preserving formatting, embedded images, tables, columns, etc. I know that theoretically this is possible as a new text layout. The frame is powerful enough to turn it off, but I could not find the case when someone achieved something in this direction, except for the Adobe BuzzWord web application, which does just that. . Ideally, the solution would be for RTF documents, since conversions to RTF are familiar from nothing.

Buzzword was created before the structure of the text layout existed; therefore, I don’t think he uses it. I, too, had the impression - without any facts to back it up - that Buzzword did the server side conversion of the document; not on the client side.

I do not know of any AS3 projects that do this, and would recommend taking a look at the ways to access data inside a Word document. The Apache POI project is one option: http://poi.apache.org/ .

From there, you will need to create your own conversion from the document to what AS3 can handle.
