Is TD rowspan supported in most browsers (including IE6)?

I need to use a table row on my webpage with a set of "rowspan". It just bothers me that some browsers might struggle with this. Are there any known issues? Or is it safe to use?

rowspan (and its partner colspan ) has existed since before HTML 4. It's been over a decade. This is very well maintained.

rowspan and colspan have been around for ages ... it's a standard html attribute, all browsers do this very well! :)

Go ahead and do your job!

Yes, but colspan and rowspan are a little unpredictable.

rowspan been part of tables since Netscape 1.1B1 introduced them in early 1995, so any implementation that has ever fully supported tables will work well with it. It has also been part of the HTML specification since 3.2 in 1996.
