How to disable automatic restart of Visual Studio 2010 upon failure?

Visual Studio 2010 crashes a lot for me. Often, he decides to automatically restart, and if I miss a short period of time to get into the cancel field, it will boot again.

Is there a registry key to disable the automatic restart function?

I reported this to Connect:

http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/569754/add-ability-to-disable-auto-restart-on-crash

They said it in the next version. I had to test the beta version of SP1 and noticed that it was fixed there, so this problem will be resolved soon after the release of SP1.

I do not know if there is a way to unregister the application specifically from (Windows) Application Restart. You can try to make an error message ask you before checking for solutions, or simply exclude devenv.exe from the error report. In Win7, these parameters can be found on the control panel under System and Security -> Action Center -> Problem Reporting Settings .

Note that if you exclude VS and do not send Watson reports, none of the VS team will ever see them or be able to fix them. We regularly investigate these reports, so it’s always useful to send them if you can.

I also had a "crash on exit" issue in VS2010 on XP. I solved this by installing the latest updates for Windows - there was nothing specific for VS, but since then I have not had a failure.
