Corresponding MSDN Subscription

I am looking for advice on the most appropriate MSDN license (no overpayment) for the next development team.

We are essentially developers (3-5 developers) of SharePoint / .Net that will be developed in SharePoint 2010. We also want to integrate with Team Foundation Server, so any advice on the appropriate license for this product is also welcome.

My thinking is that we can benefit from VS Premium, but we hope that we can deal with VS Professional. It seems that VS Ultimate is overcrowded and at $ 11,899 per seat - this is a crazy price.

All thoughts are welcome!

You will receive a TFS license that includes SQL Server Standard and 5 limited use options (for only one TFS server) CAL with VS Pro or higher subscription. In my opinion, a professional is a pretty good deal for $ 1,200, considering what you get.

If you start earning less than $ 1 million a year, I would advise you to take a look at BizSpark. This is essentially MSDN for free for three years, and in the end you pay $ 100.

If you are a company that produces more than $ 1 million a year, you may have to pay for one of the standard MSDN licenses. I think Ultimate is in most cases redundant. This is because there are some companies that will buy the final money, regardless of price.

Now you get a TFS license with every subscription level on MSDN.

Expression Studio is part of Premium and Ultimate, if you find this useful. The same goes for Office, Project, and Visio production licenses. If this is not important, or if you have other measures for them, then MSDN w / VS Professional might be better.

Premium seems to have a good balance between two extremes: most, if not all useful tools, but at a lower price than Ultimate.
