Will closure be supported in the final JDK 7 or not?

Possible duplicate:
Closing in Java 7

There are so many articles and web pages about Closures in JDK 7. As I recall, at first they said that Closures would be in JDK7, then they said that they would not be - but that was at the beginning of 2009. Then, at the end of 2009, they said they would be in JDK7 again. Now, when I investigate this problem, I am a little confused, and I just can not find for this final final statement.

I found out that Closures are now under the hood of Project Lambda , but not if it is included in the final JDK (i only read the "sentence", "possible", etc.)

As I am writing a dissertation, where I want to say whether closure is supported in JDK 7, I have to be absolutely sure, and I also need a good source for this information (as far as possible, maybe from someone from the JDK Staff or so )

Any help is much appreciated!

Unfortunately, I do not think that there is any absolute answer to your question now. JDK 7 may or may not have lambda. The work is underway and there is quite a bit of activity on the mailing list of the lambda project, but I don’t think that Oracle is talking about the schedule now or whether the lambda project will be included. I think he still has a long way to go, and many design problems will be developed.

You should follow the lambda-dev mailing list and check your archives if you want to know more.

Of course, you can expect 'Closures will be included in JDK 7' because Closing was included among 8 stages for this version of Milestone 6 . The Lambda project also received.

When Milestone 6 turned on Closures, we can confidently expect it to be with JDK 7
