Converting Sharepoint 2007 Solution in 2010

Has anyone converted a Sharepoint 2007 solution to 2010?

I have a very customized 2007 solution, and I need to update it, I saw some information about this, for example. here , but my solution is more complicated than one web part.

I am worried about, for example, the following topics and hopefully someone can shed some light on it:

  • Schema.xml, do I need to update it in accordance with the new 2010 syntax? I did some testing and the top menu bar seems to be missing, so I cannot create new items.
  • Comparison of the structure of the previous 12 hives. Are there any changes in the structure, can I just rename 12-14 and do with it?
  • onet.xml, do I need to update it similarly to Schema.xml?
  • Workflows, will my old workflows be complete or any changes to OM that I need to take into account?

Finally, is there some kind of conversion tool that can help me solve some of these problems?

Take a look at my publication series on migrating a SharePoint 2007 WSPBuilder project to SharePoint 2010 . It does not deal with onet.xml, but it explains how to go from 12 hives to 14 hives.
