Labeling MPMediaItem (podcast) listened to

Is there a way to update the status of the listened status of MPMediaItem in the iPod library?

I tried using MPMusicPlayerController in iPodMusicPlayer mode, and it does not mark the podcast as being listened after it ends.

As far as I can see, it is not possible to change the media attributes from the MPMusicPlayer controller.

The only thing you could try to play the podcast and go to the last second, and then play the last second (and turn the volume to 0 for that second).

But this is also not good, because you are playing something that causes the playback of any other iPod to stop.
