Can we use user interface automation tools with iPhone Simulator?

I used the new tools UI automation tools and iPhone SDK 4.0, but so far I have not been able to get it to work under iPhone Simulator. Ive tried to set the target to any place - my build folder, application folder in ~ / Library / Application Support / iPhone Simulator, etc. - but I get an error when I try to start it:

Unexpected error in - [UIATarget_0x5a1e3b0 frontMostApp], / SourceCache / UIAutomation_Sim / UIAutomation-37 / Framework / UIATargetElements.m line 437,

Has anyone got this to work?

If you are having trouble getting the right target, starting your project with another tool (such as a leak) should put your executable in the "select target" list. This is at least one potential source of errors; you can eliminate this path.

Yes, in theory you can. In practice, there are many problems. But did you check if the simulator has accessibity.plist?

I found this at https://devforums.apple.com/message/261883#261883 they recommend: "Copy ~ / Library / Application Support / iPhone Simulator / 4.0 / Library / Preferences / com.apple.Accessibility.plist to ~ / Library / Application Support / iPhone Simulator / 4.0.1 / Library / Preferences "and it worked for me.
